Just last night, we sent an update to all of our friends and families addressing the situation of the flight ban into Ben Gurion and how that would impact our plans of returning to serve in Jerusalem. Wouldn't you know it...as soon as we spoke it out and asked for your prayers, the Lord showed Himself strong! We woke up this morning to see that the FAA ban had been lifted! Yes, Sarah and I (well, mostly me!) did a happy dance while humming Pharrell's "Happy".
Sarah and I have been continually dialoging about the current situation in Gaza and Israel. Through it all, neither of us felt that we shouldn't go--not to say we don't think about what might happen. Sometimes it's concerning to think about the reality of living in a land with so much conflict. But we believe that the "safest" place to be is in God's will and living and serving in Jerusalem, is God's will for our family.
So when the FAA placed a ban on all flights into Israel, we felt "stuck." You see, when you know where you should be and it's not where you are, there a sense of urgency You desire to do what you feel "you were born to do!"
Friends, all of us has a purpose to fulfill in this world. Some of us are called to serve in corporate America, some has stay-at-home dads, some as engineers, some as nurses, ets. For us, our purpose is to serve in Jerusalem for such a time as this! I ask that you continue to keep us in your prayers: for the peace of Jerusalem, for our effectiveness in building relationships, and our effectiveness in lifting up Jesus for He has promised to draw all people unto Him when we do! Where and in what way is God calling you to life Jesus up and live a life that makes Jesus look good?! He has asked us to serve in Jerusalem through education, and we will follow...
As He leads,
